Call for artist residency

La maison MONA is happy to present a call for applications for an artist residency. This residency is developed in collaboration with la Maison de la culture Claude-Leveillée (MCCL) for its 2022 fall program. La Maison MONA aims to combine art, culture, and technology while engaging citizens in their environment. Its main project is a free mobile app, MONA. The app encourages participative exploration of public art and heritage sites. We also design and lead guided tours and activities in the city, in collaboration with educational, cultural and community partners. In 2022, la maison MONA seeks to put emphasis on the visibility of artistic diversity in its app and toward the public. More specifically, we are developing several projects to showcase underrepresented public artworks and media. We wish to work with an artist from Villeray—Saint-Michel—Parc-Extension on a project seeking to highlight ethnocultural diversity in public art, specifically in the Villeray—Saint-Michel—Parc-Extension district. The artist will be invited to explore several issues related to the representation of diversity in the public space and to create literary or visual contents for our mobile app. They can work more specifically on one or several of the following topics:

All media are admissible: visual arts, performing arts, literature, audio or video productions… The residency duration is 260 hours, and will include several activities:
